      <image:caption>We will offer Beginner level, Intermediate level Reformer Classes. Advanced Level classes are also available for clients who are well-versed with the full Intermediate repertoire and are approved to attend. In the Beginner Level class, you will use the Universal Reformer. An ideal class for those who are new to Pilates, or are returning from an injury or long absence from practice. Our Intermediate class is designed for those who regularly attend Pilates sessions and ideally with no injuries. We have also now added a Term Time Advanced class on a Friday morning. A class that will allow clients to progress their practice to the next level. Classes are limited to 4 clients only with hands on assistance for guidance and safety. You will work on the other fundamental pieces of Pilates apparatus, including the Mat, Wunda Chair, Barrels and Magic Circle. A one-off Reformer Class is £26.       <image:caption>I am a professionally trained dancer and aerialist.  After graduating from the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, I moved to London to pursue a career in aerial acrobatics.  In 2001 I was selected to work for world-renowned Cirque Du Soleil, and I toured with them for 10 years, living and working all around the world. It was during this time that Pilates became an essential part of maintaining my physically demanding routine. After retiring from performing I completed my Stott Pilates qualifications and began my career in teaching.   In 2014 I suffered a rare allergic reaction which resulted in heart failure. The lifesaving open heart surgery I received left me with major chest injuries.  However, during my recovery and rehab I was able to use my years of training and my Pilates knowledge to stay positive and rebuild my body.  After my recovery, while teaching Pilates in Australia, I joined a workshop where I was introduced to The Classical Pilates Method. It was an amazing and eye-opening experience which led me to embark on my Classical journey.   On returning to the U.K I trained at The Classical Pilates Centre with Second Generation teacher Kirk Smith.  Since then I have taken many classes and workshops in Europe and the U.K with world-renowned teachers.   During my Pilates career so far I have worked with a broad range of clients. For the past year I have enjoyed travelling with Cirque Du Soleil once again, this time teaching Pilates to the acrobats. My experience as a professional aerialist, along with my own rehabilitation journey and keen interest in physiology influence my approach to Pilates. Pilates is my great passion and I feel very fortunate to have found it.  I am always striving to delve deeper into the work and continue to learn with each new client.  My goal is to help people get the most out of their body, whether they are training as an athlete or simply wishing to improve their overall physical wellbeing.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Having worked with a wide range of clients, I have developed a special interest in postural and chronic problems. I have completed full Pilates matwork and equipment training through the MIIP- Pilates (Pilates Postural Integrated movement) and recently have done a Mat Bridge course at the Australian Physiotherapy &amp; Pilates Institute (APPI). I teach both 1:1 and group matwork and equipment Pilates sessions and has found Pilates to be of particular benefit to clients with chronic pain. In 2018 I finished my Master’s degree in Physiotherapy Advancing Practice at Sheffield Hallam University, where I focussed on pain management and exercise-based therapy. I was able to develop a dissertation project interviewing pilates’ clients about their perceptions and experiences of Pilates, concluding that the participants reported improvements in their clinical presentation regarding pain, mobility and posture.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>With an active childhood in South Africa; a major portion of which was spent in trees, a love of movement and particularly expansive movement was instilled in me. My background of eight years in classical ballet (Cecchetti) and competitive artistic gymnastics, for which I received provincial colours, evolved into a natural continuation as a group exercise instructor at the height of the aerobics craze in the '80's and early '90"s. At this point I had moved to Greece, where I taught aerobics for 7 years simultaneously studying for a BA majoring in communications, anthropology and criminology. Taking a short respite to raise my children, I found Pilates, or possibly it found me in 2007.  At my very first session, the feeling of empowerment and well-being I felt was enough to convince me to learn more. I was certified by Power Pilates NY, under the auspices of Bob Liekens. This classical, systematic and integrative certification took place in Athens, Greece. My teacher - Evgenia Papadopoulou, who is herself a second-generation teacher and was classically trained and certified by Romana Kryzanowska. Romana was one of the first generation teachers who studied directly with Joseph Pilates himself and carried the torch for the method.  I completed over 600 hours of the practical, oral and theory of the method and certified in December 2008. I operated my own small home studio for eight years, which gave me the wonderful opportunity to give the incredible benefits and sense of well-being that Pilates is capable of to others. I love the fact that Pilates is non-competitive, that it is able to challenge and reward every body and everybody without the need for judgement and criticism. That within the structured classical format, there is enormous scope for an individualised programme, that clients leave a session feeling energised, healthier and radiant. I truly feel honoured to be teaching at Breathe Pilates. I am so happy to have found my niche in the UK.  Let’s just move and have fun….</image:caption>

She has worked extensively with aerial circus performers, climbers and the elderly, and also specialises in pregnancy and post-natal Pilates. She has also qualified as a Thai massage therapist for a more balanced and deeper approach to the helping the body and mind. I regularly attend workshops covering topics such as fascia, other movement styles, birthing and healing, pilates related workshops, pathology and nutrition.  My philosophy is " If we aren't learning, we aren't moving. If we aren't moving, what's the point of life?"</image:caption>

      <image:caption>With a background in education, I am passionate about lifelong learning and seeing real change and progression in others. My journey has taken me from a degree in language teaching, teaching in the UK and International schools and now Pilates. My training started with BASI and I qualified as a MAT instructor. Working within this system over the last couple of years I started to consider the next level of training and how I would be able to provide the most structured and applicable methods of Pilates training for my clients. This has led to me currently working towards a Classical Pilates Comprehensive training certification. The move towards learning Classical Pilates has been an enriching experience and is providing the necessary technical underpinning to successfully guide clients in their Pilates journey. My personal development through Pilates started after having 3 children. I kept myself fit, I took regular yoga classes and HIIT training and was in good shape and flexible but once I tried Pilates class, I realised my core wasn’t as strong as I had hoped and how this was the exercise and movement I had been missing. Since day 1, I fell in love with Pilates and the transformational effect it had on my body. My core is now stronger than ever and my overall body and movement continue to improve with regular training . I would love to share my passion for Pilates and help other people to gain more strength in their body and move better.
